Initial herbal and nutritional consultations last approximately two hours. I do an extensive intake evaluation in order to assess your current situation and possible reasons why you are having problems. Your symptoms will give me a picture of your imbalances. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
I will need a list of your medications, herbal, homeopathic, vitamin/mineral and other supplements, as well as any diagnoses that you have from your physician. I can help you better understand why some herbs and medications do not interact well. I will also look up possible medication side-effects. If side-effects are a factor, it will then be important to consult with your physician to see if any changes in your medication can be made. It is also important to understand why you should never use an herb to suppress a medication side-effect. The reason all of this is so important is because I look for the root cause of your problem. I do not use herbs to suppress symptoms. Herbs and flower essences are used for balancing and strengthening as you make small, subtle shifts in your lifestyle. Covering up lifestyle issues is very expensive, and I make every effort to point out ways you can save or reallocate money to find more cost-effective ways to bring your health into balance.  What is Root Cause?I'd like you to think of your health as a tree. We are supposed to be flexible and strong enough to get through most of the storms that come our way. Our body is so sophisticated and complex, and has been created to rebalance itself. There is even a medical term for it - homeostasis. The body spends a lot of energy trying to keep its seesaw balanced. If it has the proper balance of nutrients, rest, relaxation, positive creative thinking, and safe, loving environment, the body is miraculous in what it can endure. However, the body needs a way to communicate with us when it's missing something.
